5 Timely Reasons to Celebrate Your Small Business Anniversary
Business anniversaries are such an important time to celebrate, not just for you but also for your clients and team, and to acknowledge who you are, where you’ve been, and where you are going.
I am so excited that we are coming across one of these milestones. As I reflected on the joy of watching so many of our clients celebrate these epic milestones, I wanted to share five reasons why a business absolutely should celebrate their anniversaries. While many think it is self-serving for the owner, in reality, it is excellent for your team, your business, your revenues, and the stability and the future of your existence.
So, let’s jump right in.
Number 1: CELEBRATE Your Company Anniversary.
Every year is a milestone. Every single anniversary is a step forward. Every year of staying in business puts you in a smaller percentage of those that make it. Anniversaries are an opportunity to look back on the year of what you have done and accomplished, reinvigorate your business plan, and look forward to knowing that you will make improvements that will help your business grow. Bonus if your business anniversary is a big one, like 1 year, 5 years, 10 years, or even 25 years! This means you have earned the right to be grateful for how far you have come! So celebrate.
Number 2: RECOGNIZE Your Team.
They are at the heart of your company, and it is a perfect time to acknowledge them. It is an ideal time to recognize they are part of helping your clients and ensuring the day-to-day workings are happening. This is where you will inspire, not just your current team, but future employees and team members that will join you. They’re going to look back at these videos, at these social media posts, at the events that you hold and recognize. This is a place worth being a part of.
Number 3: THANK Customers and Vendors.
Again, it takes many people to make a successful business run, not the least of which are the people showing up, paying for your services, and inspiring you to be the best in what you do and to help others
grow and build. So, whether you’re thanking your customers or thanking your vendors, take that little time, express that gratitude. This is a chance for you to share your appreciation and value for their support, their loyalty, and for your vendors because they’re the unsung heroes sometimes that help keep things moving along.
Number 4: STRENGTHEN Your Mission.
Anniversaries are a great chance to look forward and strengthen your mission and your core values and put everything into alignment for your clients and your team. Where are you going? And how does this further your purpose and your drive? They want a leader. They want to hear from a company that is going places. So take that time to strengthen your resolve, foster that unity, and allow everyone to get behind you in that mission.
Number 5: FUN and JOY!
It’s a time to celebrate. We work so hard at so many accomplishments, and for some of usbusiness owners, we push hard to get where we want to go, which is why it is so important to take that time to celebrate and have a little fun.
A little vibrancy, a little joy, you know life is filled with adventures, and business ownership has many ups and downs many times because things don’t go as planned. You have to learn to pivot. Learn to adapt. Learn to innovate and make it different or better. And that is part of this journey of business ownership.
So when business anniversaries come along, have a little fun.
Enjoy your moment.
Let the world know about it.
This is going to increase your visibility.
Allow others to see the pride in what you’ve built and the brand that you stand for.
Let them see you reflect on where you’ve been and where you are going in the future.
The result… your audience will love you even more and continue to support you.
So have a great time celebrating whichever anniversary you have. We have a big #5 anniversary coming up. I’m so excited. Wow! Do we have some celebrations in store! But it also gives me this chance to hold gratitude for the ups and downs and the journey we’re on, and all the people we’ve helped, and all the lessons that have been learned.
Cheers to another 5 years!
