Leading your team and business with messaging. 

Think about the last time you scrolled social media or checked out a blog post. Did you see any messaging that was completely wrong? That you literally read and thought, “That business needs to wipe the slate clean and try again?”

Chances are, you did.

It’s funny how the bad ones always stick out in our minds, but the good or average ones often don’t. Occasionally, those super amazing ones do stick – the ones that become iconic or go viral – but so often, it’s the bad ones that make our jaws drop. They end up being memorable, but not in a good way.

As you build your business and your team, you should always be looking for opportunities to hone your brand’s message. This will help you gain clarity so you can quickly convey what you do, confidently and consistently, to your ideal audience.

Take a moment to think about your online presence: do you have a clear, intentional plan and editorial calendar? Does your content convey value, drawing your prospects and clients along a clear path? If someone stumbles upon your website, blog, or social profiles, can they quickly understand who you are and what you have to offer?

This is important when developing your blog posts, newsletters, and social media. Leading with messaging goes beyond this though – think about your workshops and webinars! While it may not be difficult to nail down your Facebook or LinkedIn messaging, it can be a challenge when you are on a webinar for 30 or 60 minutes with an audience that may not know you very well.

In situations like this, you need to be concise and clear. Establishing who you are and quickly honing in on how you can help your audience move forward with their current problem or opportunity they want to pursue will go a long way toward keeping them engaged.

In today’s world, most of us already spend so much time on Zoom, many will completely tune out if they’re not completely enthralled. Communicating with your audience through webinars is a fantastic way to communicate and give value, but crafting a perfect webinar takes skill and practice. It’s definitely a worthwhile skill to learn!

Of course, all of this is easier when you have a fast track method that provides a framework or infrastructure upon which to work. This allows you to simply fine-tune the verbiage to match your messaging and your audience.

Helping business owners build profitable, thriving businesses often means helping them find the tools they need so they can get more done in less time. This often includes helping them develop effective systems or use an established structure for marketing campaigns, sales scripts, or any other part of the business.

Too often, business owners will try to start from scratch or reinvent the wheel. This is a huge waste of time and energy that can be spent elsewhere. When we spend less time building from scratch, we can instead simply hone our message to resonate with not only our ideal clients, but with our team and with what we stand for. It is when we craft these carefully compiled words that we are able to lead, inspire, and help our audience get to that next level.
