How Your Passion Can Help You Connect with Your Perfect Clients
Have you ever wondered how your passion can be that key to connecting with your perfect client? Or how to harness it?
Here’s the thing. Your passion! Your emotion! Your Zest and Zeal for What You DO! It can be one of the most powerful tools in your toolbox to attract the right client to you. But most don’t use it effectively. The struggle we see people have is finding and connecting with the right kind of client in a very saturated market… and what we see is that there is no passion conveyed into what they do.
Here’s the thing, clients have a problem or seek to move forward with some type of opportunity. If they believe you’re the one that can get them to where they want to go, they will hire you every time.
It sounds so simple, but your perfect client is also waiting to hear multiple things to convince them that you are the right fit. This is where people get stuck… or end up with the wrong type of client trying to sign up with them.
So let me break down some things we see, and how you can build a more powerful, emotional draw to get more clients in the door.
Why Passion Matters.
Imagine you are watching a video of someone talking about their product and there is a complete void of emotion, of conviction.
If I were to merely tell you, “I help people with systems”, you would probably be like, “So what.”
You may or may not know what I am talking about. You may or may not be inclined to read or listen any further.
But if you watch one of my videos you will see I am thrilled about this stuff. I use my hands. I get excited. In fact, it is hard for me not to get excited about what I do. And why is that? It is because my story from rags to riches so speak, that journey has me 110% convinced that systems can help every business owner become more successful and happy.
So yes, while the story is the story, it is the tone, the ambiance, the gesturing, that shows the passion.
This is important because research has shown that people like to work with people that they get energized by, and they believe in, and who have that conviction that this is the right fit.
My story ties into that directly with what I do, and maybe it doesn’t with yours. But let me give you an example.
I’m an attorney by trade. An attorney who worked way too many hours, who would be there at 6 AM, and work until midnight or 1:00 am in the morning. I would be dreary, and I would be tired trying to get it all done myself. And then I found how to build systems, how to write down the policies and procedures, how to ask for things to be done a certain way, and how to set up a systematic way for my team to do it repeatedly.
That was a transformation for me and for my entire business. It’s what allowed me to double and double again and take vacations and go from working 85 plus hours to 35 hours! It was a golden moment that transformed my life. So, I believe in the value of systems wholeheartedly. Systems are what can change your life as a business owner.
So that is my story and why I get so fired up about helping business owners establish systems!
Tying in that passion, that emotion, the part that drives you is also what will drive your customer to want to work with you. They need to understand that you can help change their life and that you are convinced that what you offer will do that.
Verbal vs Written Words.
Another element is recognizing that the verbal words will carry more weight given the passion or emotion that you’re stating verbally. It is vital that the words you are using also convey a strong emotion response to evoke transformation to them.
So if you want more clients, these are the types of things that you want to work on. How well are you conveying your passion to connect you with that ideal client!
Attracting the Perfect Client
If you ever find that you are attracting the WRONG client, this is a great chance to revisit the words you are using.
An example I give often is where family lawyers say, “we fight for your rights”. By using the word “fight”, they attract a lot of people that like to fight. Not only will they want to fight with their ex. They want to fight with their lawyer, too, and then they turn around and sue their lawyer later because they just like to keep fighting! (Side note: that was where I, as a legal malpractice, defense attorney, would come in and defend the lawyer from that client that just loved to “fight”!)
Words will absolutely attract audiences that resonate with those words… So pick and choose your words carefully!
Use your own passion for what you love to do, who you love to work with, and connect that with your perfect client.
Start using those words in your videos, in your writing, in your emails, in your conversations, start attracting that perfect client to fit with your passion, and what you can do to help your clients move forward.
You’ll get more clients, have an easier conversion rate, and have more fun.
