Simple Tips to Wow Your Clients
Impressing your clients and staying on their radar doesn’t have to be difficult. It does require intentional planning and consistency. This is why I recommend hiring a Client Happiness Coordinator early on in your business. Someone whose job it is to cultivate your client relationships. The best news is that there are some simple tips to WOW your clients and amplify your audience!
There are a lot of ways your team can approach this task, and each business will go about it a bit differently. I rely on my Client Happiness Coordinator (“CHC”) to take amazing care of my clients. The best news is that our clients love working with her. I wanted to share some of the things that she does so well to wow my clients so you can implement these same tips in your small business.
Build Rapport Quickly
One of the best ways to wow your clients is to build rapport from the start. This is something we would all like to do, but when the interruptions and daily tasks hit, it’s one of the first things that slips through the cracks.
Building rapport starts with your online and social media presence. It then extends into your Pre-Conditioning process. Have you set up ways for interested prospects to get to know you and your company better? This can be done in many ways – a downloadable resource and email sequence, YouTube playlists, a podcast, or any other medium that would resonate with your audience.
This might seem like an unnecessary extra step, but it’s actually very important. Not only does it give you a way to show your personality and share valuable content, but it also allows you to connect with your prospective clients before they ever talk with you. (In turn, this saves you time and allows your audience to get to Know, Like, and Trust you!)
Whatever method and medium you choose, I encourage you to be intentional about the content. You might be tempted to showcase yourself, but in reality, you’ll want to make it about them. This is a chance for you to share what you have to offer your audience in a way that will make them want more!
When you create content – emails, social posts, videos, or anything else – for your audience, make sure to get on their level. Knowing your audience and their comfort level with your specialty is key. Are they familiar with the technical terms in your industry, or should you use wording they’re familiar with? Do the have the time to dig deep into a specific topic, or will you want to share quick tips they can use right away?
Paying attention to these details can help you build rapport and give your audience the confidence to think seriously about working with you!
Implement a Follow-Up System to Keep Clients Engaged
Once a prospect schedules with you or a member of your Sales Team, what happens if they don’t decide to hire you on the spot? Do you have a system in place to follow up with them and stay on their radar?
Often, the answer is “no”. A key tip to wowing your clients is to put a strong follow-up system in place. This sends the message that you care and it will increase your sales conversion rates.
What about when someone does hire you? Do you have systems in place for your team to contact them at specific intervals? Systems to make sure they’re receiving amazing services and that their questions are answered?
Again, the answer is often “no” – but doing so can make the client journey a lot smoother for you, your team, and your client.
If you think about it, the processes that are second nature to you and your team can be completely foreign to your client, especially if you work in a specialized industry.
For example, I come from a legal background, as do many of my clients. When someone hires an attorney, it’s usually because they’re facing a situation that they have no idea how to navigate. The law is not a simple thing! They may be anxious, stressed, or even scared – and knowing that their attorney cares enough to make the process easier to work through will go a long way toward retaining their business and receiving future referrals.
Intentional planning and putting the right systems in place makes a huge difference when it comes to wowing your clients!
Be Thoughtful with Your Gifts
Here at Upleveling Your Business, we send our clients cards, gifts, and fun treats throughout the year. Both to thank them for their business and to let them know we’re thinking of them. This starts with a carefully curated Welcome Box when they first become our client. It continues with annual branded swag boxes for different events. From there we love to send thoughtful gifts to celebrate wins or show that we care. We also love to send Sendout Cards to just brighten their day.
For the larger campaigns that involve putting together a branded swag box to delight our clients, we start on these several months in advance. We need that additional time to put intentional thought into the choice and branding of each item. When we can, we include items from local vendors to add some thoughtfulness and fun to the experience!
However, we also send individualized cards and gifts throughout the year to our clients. These are more “spur of the moment,” but they make a big difference. Various members of our team, from our Coaches to our Social Media Manager, keep an eye out for things that are happening in our clients’ lives so we can WOW our clients!
